Parking
Apart from the obvious points like trying to leave your car somewhere where there is
light and it is visible, there are also a few others that are worth mentioning :
- One of the most popular spots to park is in the shade of a tree. However, bear in
mind also this can be hazardous under certain trees; mangoes, for example, can grow
to quite a size! We have also seen goats clamber up onto the roof of a car to reach the
lower branches of a tree. Goats hooves don't do the paintwork much good either.
- In fact you can keep your car surprisingly cool by choosing a light color body and cloth
trim, and by using window shades (see also color choice).
- In very cold countries avoid parking your car at the side of the road in water more than
an inch deep. This will freeze and your car will be stuck fast in the ice. Also when
parking on icy streets try and avoid dropping one of your tires into a hole in the ice
created by the previous occupant of the space.
